# Style environmental cost calculator

> Calculate the environmental cost score of a style with the Ecobalyse calculator and embed the score on your website.

The **Environmental Cost Calculator** uses Ecobalyse to calculate an environmental cost score for a style from its materials, manufacturing locations, weight and other lifecycle details. The same calculator is available in two places: **Product ID → Environmental Cost** and **Integrations → Ecobalyse**.

**Where to find it:** Collection & Styles → Styles → (select a style) → Product ID → Environmental Cost

**Requires:** permission `PRE_SALE_CONTENT,VIEW_STYLE`

## Before you start

- The Ecobalyse integration must be connected for your brand. In **Product ID → Environmental Cost**, the entry is only listed when it is, and opening the page without it shows a forbidden page. In **Integrations → Ecobalyse**, you see **Ecobalyse is not connected for this brand.** with a **Set up the integration** link instead.
- The **Environmental cost** feature must be switched on for the brand.

## Calculate the score

1. **Open the calculator**
   Click the **Product ID** tab, then **Environmental Cost**. The page is titled **Environmental Cost Calculator**. If a result was calculated before, its inputs and score are loaded.

2. **Fill in Non-physical Sustainability**
   Enter **Mass of the finished product (Kg)**, choose a **Category**, enter **Number of references**, **Price (EUR)**, choose a **Business** (for example **VSE/SME**, **Large company with no repair or warranty service** or **Large company with offering repair and warranty service**) and enter **Marketing Duration (Day)**. Check **Traceability displayed** if it applies.

3. **Fill in Raw materials**
   For each material, choose the **Material** and the **Location**, and enter its share. Click **Add Material** for more rows. The shares must total 100%; otherwise you see **Material shares total NN%, must be 100%**.

4. **Fill in the transformation steps**
   Choose the **Location** for **Transformation - Spinning**, **Transformation - Weaving / Knitting**, **Transformation - Ennoblement** and **Transformation - Manufacturing**. In Ennoblement also set **Dye On** and **Printing**. In Manufacturing set **Air transport** and **Wash out**.

5. **Click "CALCULATE"**
   Click **CALCULATE** (**RE-CALCULATE** when a score is shown). The result shows the score in **Pts** for the given mass, with a lifecycle breakdown.

> If Ecobalyse cannot be reached, the page shows **Ecobalyse unavailable, retry later** and the button is disabled.

> [!NOTE]
> The calculator prefills **Price (EUR)** from the style price only when the style currency is EUR.

## Embed the score on your website

When a score has been saved, click **Embed to your website** under the result. This needs the **Shopify product journey widget** permission. The dialog lets you customise the score widget and copy the code to add to your site.
