These are the words you meet in the app, in the way the app uses them. Names in **bold** match what you see on screen.

## Design and development

- **Brand**: Your company's workspace in Vestis Labs. A user can belong to more than one brand and switch between them.
- **Collection**: A container that groups related styles, for example by season or drop. You find it under **Collection & Styles → Collection**.
- **Style**: One design record, with its specifications, construction details, materials and imagery. Styles live inside a collection.
- **Colourway**: A colour variant of a style. Costs, prices and margins are worked out per colourway, and the app shows it as a colour option on a style.
- **Season**: A period you assign to collections and styles. Seasons are managed under **Settings → Collection & Style** and used as a filter in lists and reports.
- **Style status**: Where a style stands. Your brand defines its own statuses in Settings, and each style also moves through a development workflow from created to completed.
- **Design & Development**: The tab on a style where its design inputs, such as prototype, 3D sample, tech pack and visualisation, are uploaded, versioned and approved.
- **Tech pack**: The set of specifications a factory needs to make a style. Its parts include the overview, the **Bill of Material** and the **Measurements**.
- **BOM (Bill of Material)**: The list of every item needed to build a product, with its quantities and costs.
- **Size chart**: A table of measurements for a style that defines its fit and sizing. In the app it is built from measurement cards in the **Measurements** library and shown on the tech pack **Measurements** tab.
- **Size range**: The set of sizes a style is made in, managed under **Settings → Size Range**.

## Library and costing

- **Library**: The brand's reusable resources: **Materials**, **Measurements** and **Color Palette**.
- **Material**: A fabric, trim or other raw material in your **Materials** library, with its supplier details and specifications. Styles link to materials through the BOM.
- **Colour palette**: Your brand's approved colour library, used for consistent colour reference across styles and materials.
- **Cost, price and margin**: A style's costing, its retail and wholesale prices, and the margin between them. You can set a target margin in Settings and compare it with real margins in reports.

## Sampling and production

- **Sample**: A physical or digital sample requested from a supplier for a style, tracked in **Sampling** with a status, a due date and approvals.
- **Supplier**: A partner that makes or supplies something for you, such as a factory, mill or trim maker. Suppliers are managed under **Management → Supplier**.
- **Tier**: A level of the supply chain, from Tier 0 (brands and retailers) to Tier 4. See [Understanding the fashion supply chain](https://docs.vestislabs.com/general/understanding-the-fashion-supply-chain/).
- **Order aggregation**: Merging wholesale orders into factory-ready production orders, grouped by factory.
- **Production order**: An order placed with a factory, with quantities by size, dates and stock destination. The app also calls these purchase orders.
- **Ex-factory date**: The agreed date an order leaves the factory. Production is running late when this date has passed and the order has not shipped.
- **Shipping and tracking**: The step where finished units, samples or materials are shipped, split across destinations, and followed until delivery.
- **Material production**: The same order flow for raw materials: you order from a supplier, ship, receive and hold them as stock.

## Stock

- **Stock overview**: The on-hand, reserved and incoming quantities for every SKU in every warehouse.
- **Receiving**: Confirming the delivered quantity against an order, so incoming stock becomes on-hand.
- **Stock allocation**: Assigning available or reserved stock to clients, warehouses or Shopify, then picking it.
- **SKU**: The code that identifies one sellable variant of a style. The code generator in Settings builds codes automatically from a formula.
- **Warehouse**: A location that holds stock, managed under **Management → Warehouse**.

## Publishing and compliance

- **Certificate**: A record of a certification, linked to materials and suppliers and backed by uploaded documents.
- **Institute**: An organisation that issues or oversees certificates, such as a certification body. Institutes are managed under **Management → Institute**.
- **Barcode**: A printable code for a product, made from a template under **Barcode → Manage Templates**.
- **Digital ID**: A digital identity for a style that consumers can open, for example by scanning it. It is generated automatically for styles on plans that include the feature, and its pages can be customised.
- **Product passport**: The style's passport tab, which shows the product's data for transparency and traceability.
- **DPP (Digital Product Passport)**: The passport as a compliance document. The app can check how ready a style is for it and export the passport.
- **Showroom**: A branded view of your collections and styles that you can share with invited buyers.
- **Atlas**: The Vestis Labs product for enriching your product data and tracking how visible it is to AI. Content it writes back for you to review appears under **Collection & Styles → Atlas Enrichments**.

## Reports

- **Widget**: One report on the **Reports and Insights** board, for example **Samples Overdue**.
- **View**: A saved arrangement of widgets on your board. You can keep up to 12 views.
