The **Color Palette** page lists every colour of your library as a card. Use it to find a colour, to start creating new ones, and to update or delete several colours together.

**Where to find it:** Library → Color Palette

**Requires:** permission `VIEW_PRODUCT`

## What each card shows

- The **category** of the colour at the top left and the **brand name** at the top right. A dash is shown when there is none.
- The first **picture** of the colour. If the colour has no picture, the card is filled with the HEX colour.
- The **name** of the colour.
- The **Pantone name** and **Pantone code**, when set.
- **Collection:** followed by the collections the colour belongs to, when set.
- A **swatch** and the **HEX code**.
- A checkbox in the top-left corner to select the card.

Click the picture of a card to open the colour. See [View and edit a color palette entry](https://docs.vestislabs.com/library/color-palette-detail-and-edit/).

## Create a colour

At the top right, users who can update products see two buttons:

- **New** : opens the form to create one colour. See [Create a new color palette](https://docs.vestislabs.com/library/create-a-new-color-palette/).
- **Create New With AI** : detects colours from an image. See [Create colours with AI](https://docs.vestislabs.com/library/color-palette-ai-detection/). On a small screen the button reads **Create with AI**.

## Search and filter

1. **Search by name**
Type in **Search by name...**. The list updates a moment after you stop typing.

2. **Filter by category or collection**
Click **Category** or **Collection** and select one or more values.

3. **Sort the list**
Use **Order by** to sort by **Date added**, **Category**, **Name** or **Collection**, then choose **Ascending** or **Descending**.

4. **Reset**
Click **Reset** to clear the search, the filters and the sorting.

## Cards per page

Use **Per page** above the cards to show **12**, **48**, **96** or **All**. Below the cards, the page shows "Showing 1-12 of 40 color palettes" and, when there is more than one page, **Previous**, the page numbers and **Next**.

## Select colours

- Check the circle in the top-left corner of a card to select it. A selected card is highlighted.
- Click **Select All** to select every card shown on the page. Click it again to clear the selection.
- When cards are selected, a counter such as "3 selected" appears next to **Select All**.

## Assign a season, collection or category to many colours

You need the permission to update products to see the **Actions** button.

1. **Select the colours**
Check the cards you want to change.

2. **Open "Actions"**
Click **Actions** and choose **Assign Season**, **Assign Collection** or **Assign Category**. The options are greyed out until at least one colour is selected.

3. **Choose the operation**
The window is titled **Assign Season** (or **Collection**, **Category**) and says "Apply to N selected color palettes." Under **Operation**, select **Add to selected** or **Remove from selected**. When you choose **Remove from selected**, the title changes to **Remove ...**.

4. **Choose the value**
Select one or more seasons or collections. For a category, select one category. When you remove a category, nothing needs to be chosen: "This will clear the category from all selected color palettes."

5. **Click "Apply"**
Click **Apply**, or **Cancel** to close without changes. You see a message such as "Assigned season on 3 palette(s)".

> [!NOTE]
> If you click **Apply** without choosing a value, you see "Please select at least one season" (or collection), or "Please select a category".

## Delete colours

Only users who can delete products see the delete options.

### Delete one colour

1. **Open the card menu**
Click the three dots at the bottom right of the card, then **Delete**.

2. **Confirm**
Vestis checks whether the colour can be deleted. In **Delete Colour?**, click **Delete**.

### Delete several colours

Select the cards, click **Actions**, then **Delete Selected**, and click **Delete** in the **Delete Colour?** window. It reads "Are you sure you want to delete N selected colours? This action cannot be undone."

> [!WARNING]
> A colour that is used in a style cannot be deleted. You see **Cannot Delete Colour** and the message "is linked to existing styles and cannot be deleted. Please unlink it from all styles first." When some colours of a selection are linked, none of them are deleted.

## When there are no colours

If your library is empty, or nothing matches your filters, the page shows **No Color Palettes Available** with the text "You don't have any color palettes yet. Start creating color palettes." and a **New** button.
