# Manage board views

> Create, switch, rename, duplicate and delete saved views on your Reports and Insights board.

A view is a saved set of widgets with its own layout and filters. Keep one view per audience or purpose, for example one for sampling and one for production. All view actions are saved immediately.

**Where to find it:** Reports and Insights → view selector

> [!NOTE]
> You can have up to 12 views. At that point the menu item reads **Up to 12 views** and **New view** and **Duplicate** are unavailable.

## Switch to another view

1. **Open the view selector**
   Click the button at the top left of the board. It shows the name of your current view.

   

2. **Select a view**
   Under **Views**, select the view you want.

The page address now contains the view, so you can bookmark or share a link to it. Opening the page later reopens the view you looked at last.

## Create a view

1. **Click "New view"**
   In the view selector, click **New view**.

2. **Name the view**
   In the **New view** dialog, enter a name in the **Name** field and confirm. An empty name is ignored.

You should now see an empty view. Click **Add widget** to fill it.

## Rename, duplicate or delete the current view

The lower section of the view selector is headed with the name of the open view and acts on that view.

- **Rename**: opens the **Rename view** dialog with the current name filled in.
- **Duplicate**: creates a copy called the same name followed by *copy*, with every widget, layout and filter, and opens it.
- **Delete**: opens the **Delete view** dialog. It asks *Delete "name" and the widgets arranged on it? This cannot be undone.* **Delete** is not offered when you only have one view.

> [!WARNING]
> Deleting a view removes its widgets and their filters. Duplicate the view first if you want to keep a copy.

While you are customising the layout, you can still rename, but switching, **New view**, **Duplicate** and **Delete** are unavailable. The menu shows *Save or cancel your changes to switch views.*
