# Production health settings

> Set the rules that decide when a production order is On Track, At Risk or Delayed, plus override and alert options.

The **Manage Health Rules** page for production lets you define when a production order is shown as **On Track**, **At Risk** or **Delayed**, who can override that status, and how long alerts stay visible.

**Where to find it:** Settings → Production

**Requires:** permission `UPDATE_BRAND_PRODUCTION`

Health is calculated from these settings each time it is shown, so after you save, the production overview, summaries and alerts update with the new thresholds.

## Change the rules

1. **Open the page**
   From the left sidebar, click **Settings**, then **Production**. The page opens on the **Meanings** tab.

2. **Open a tab**
   Click **Delayed**, **At Risk**, **Override**, **Alerts** or **Milestones** to see its rules.

3. **Change a value**
   Type a number in a field or turn a toggle on or off. Toggles that are greyed out are always on or always off and cannot be changed.

4. **Click "Save settings"**
   Click **Save settings** at the bottom right of the page. The page shows "Production health settings saved".

> Click **Reset to defaults** to put every field back to the values below. Nothing is saved until you click **Save settings**.

## Meanings tab

A read-only reminder of what each health status means.

| Status | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| **On Track** | No known production timeline issue detected. |
| **At Risk** | Warning signs detected. Production may slip if no action is taken. |
| **Delayed** | Agreed ex-factory has been missed or a later ex-factory date has been confirmed. |

## Delayed tab

**Delayed Rules** define when production should be marked as Delayed.

| Rule | What it does | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Agreed ex-factory missed by more than (days)** | Mark as Delayed when the agreed ex-factory date is missed by more than this many days. Allowed 0 to 365. | 0 |
| **Actual ex-factory moved later than agreed** | Always on. A confirmed later ex-factory date marks the order Delayed. | On, locked |
| **Supplier confirms later ex-factory** | Always on. A supplier-confirmed later ex-factory date marks the order Delayed. | On, locked |
| **Shipment confirmed after agreed ex-factory** | Always on. Goods leaving the factory later than agreed marks the order Delayed. | On, locked |

## At Risk tab

**At Risk Rules** define when production is flagged before it becomes delayed.

| Rule | What it does | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Production start not confirmed after (days)** | Mark as At Risk when production start is not confirmed this many days after the start date. Allowed 0 to 365. | 1 |
| **Start date moved later than agreed** | Mark as At Risk when the actual start date moves later than agreed. | On |
| **Completion not confirmed within (days of ex-factory)** | Mark as At Risk when production completion is not confirmed within this many days of ex-factory. Allowed 0 to 365. | 5 |
| **Completion date moved later than agreed** | Mark as At Risk when the actual completion date moves later than agreed. | On |
| **Supplier confirmation unanswered after (hours)** | Mark as At Risk when a supplier confirmation request is unanswered after this many hours. Allowed 0 to 8760. | 48 |

## Override tab

**Manual Override** controls whether health can be changed by hand.

| Setting | What it does | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Allow health override** | Allow authorised users to manually override the displayed health status. | On |
| **Require reason** | Require a reason whenever health is manually overridden. | On |
| **Suppliers can override health** | Suppliers can never override health. | Off, locked |

## Alerts tab

**Active Alert Settings** control the alerts list.

| Setting | What it does | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Active alerts visibility period (days)** | Show At Risk and Delayed items in Active Alerts for this many days. Allowed 1 to 365. | 14 |
| **Immediate alerts for new Delayed items** | Send an alert immediately when an item becomes Delayed. | On |
| **Immediate alerts for new At Risk items** | Send an alert immediately when an item becomes At Risk. | On |

## Milestones tab

**Upcoming Production Milestones** control which milestones are listed as upcoming.

| Setting | What it does | Default |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Milestone visibility period (days)** | Show upcoming production milestones due within this many days. Allowed 1 to 365. | 7 |
| **Include production start** | Always on for this phase. | On, locked |
| **Include production completion** | Always on for this phase. | On, locked |
| **Include ex-factory** | Always on for this phase. | On, locked |
| **Include delivery** | Off for now. Delivery health is out of scope in this phase. | Off, locked |
