## Style attributes – admin setup

This article outlines best practices for setting up and using style attributes in Vestis Labs to support consistent structuring, classification, and enhanced data organisation across all styles.

## Introduction & best practice

Style attributes in Vestis Labs help define key characteristics of your styles, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment throughout your product development workflow. By assigning attributes—such as product group, fit, material type, gender, or target region—you create structured data that improves filtering, reporting, and collaboration across teams.

While style attributes are optional, using them is highly recommended to support scalability and maintain well-organised style data as your assortment grows. Clear attribute definitions in Admin ensure consistent use, improve searchability, and streamline development processes for all users.

## Step-by-step guide

Users can **create a Style Attribute Master in two ways**:

1. Through the Style Attribute page.
2. Through the Create Style page.

## Create style attribute

## Through the style attribute page

**Where to find it:** Settings → Collection & Style → Style Attribute

**Requires:** permission `VIEW_STYLE_ATTRIBUTE,CREATE_STYLE_ATTRIBUTE`

**Navigate** to **Settings \> Collection & Style.** Select **Style Attribute.**

- Click the '**New**' button - a **Create Style Attribute** page will show up.

![The Style Attributes master list with the New button and a three-dot menu on each row](https://docs.vestislabs.com/assets/settings/assets/style-attribute-settings/60-list.webp)

- **Name** - \*mandatory (for example Fit, Style or Pattern)
- **Digital ID** - select **Yes** or **No**. If you choose "**Yes**" - this attribute will be shown on your Digital ID. If you choose "**No**" - this attribute will not be shown on your Digital ID.
- **Tech Pack** - select **Yes** or **No**. Controls whether this attribute is shown in the tech pack.
- Click **Create** to finish

## Edit style attribute

- Click the three-dot menu in the attribute's row and select **Edit**

## View style attribute

This means that when you want to create a new Style Attribute, you must first choose an Attribute Master (a main category or grouping). After selecting the appropriate Attribute Master, you can add a style Attribute to that group.

- Click the three-dot menu in the attribute's row and select **View attributes**

- Click the '**New**' button - a **Create Style Attribute Child** window will show up under the selected **Main** **Attribute style.**

- **Name** - \*mandatory
- Click **Create** to finish

To change or remove an attribute inside a main attribute, use the pen icon (edit) or the trash icon (delete) in its row. Editing opens an **Edit Style Attribute Child** window. The table also shows **Creation Date** and **Last Modification**.

## Delete style attribute

Click the three-dot menu in the main attribute's row and select **Delete**, then click **Delete** in the **Delete Style Attribute** confirmation. This cannot be undone.
