## Style status - admin set up

This article provides an overview of all the functionalities available under Style Status, which you can access within the collection & Style page in your Vestis Labs workspace.

## Introduction & best practice

In Vestis Labs, Style Status allows you to define and manage the current phase of each style throughout the product development workflow. From here, you can update a style’s progress, ensure teams have a clear view of its development stage, and maintain consistent tracking across collections. Using Style Status helps streamline communication and supports accurate reporting as styles move from concept to production. You can update and manage Style Status directly within the style details view in the Vestis Labs platform.

## Step-by-step guide

Users can **create a style status in two ways**:

1. Through the style status page.
2. Through the style page.

## Create new style status

## Through the style page

**Navigate** to **Collection & Styles \> Styles.**

Users can create a style status when [**creating a new style**](https://docs.vestislabs.com/collection-style/create-a-new-style/) in the **Status** field, or when editing a style on the **Main Style Details page**.

- Open the **Status** field (**Select status**) and type the name of the new status
- Click the **Add** option that shows the name you typed - the status is created and selected for the style

- Hover over a status in the list and open its **three dots** menu to **Edit** or **Delete** it
- You can also create or select the **style status** from the **style card on the Styles page**

## Through the style status page

**Where to find it:** Settings → Collection & Style → Style Status

**Requires:** permission `VIEW_STYLE_STATUS,CREATE_STYLE_STATUS`

**Navigate** to **Settings \> Collection & Style.** Select **Style Status.**

- Click the '**New**' button - a **Create Style Status** page will show up.

- **Name** - \*mandatory (for example Draft, Approved or In Production)
- Click **Create** to finish

## Edit style status

The created Style Status will be displayed and can be managed on the Style Status Page. The **Style Status** **Page** stores all the information related to the **Style Status** created in Vestis Labs.

- To change the style status - Click on the '**pen**' icon in the status's row
- The **Edit Style Status** page will open
- Change the **Name** and click **Update** to finish

- Select the trash icon in the status's row, then click **Delete** in the **Delete Style Status** confirmation to **remove** the selected **Style Status** from Vestis Labs. This cannot be undone.
