Create New With AI reads an image of colour swatches, for example a colour card, and proposes a name, HEX code and Pantone details for each colour it finds. You check the result and save the colours you want to your Color Palette.

Detect colours from an image

  1. Click "Create New With AI"

On the Color Palette page, click Create New With AI at the top right. On a small screen the button reads Create with AI.

  2. Choose a Pantone type (optional)

In Pantone Type, select the Pantone family the AI should use, for example TCX (Textile Cotton), TPG/TPX (Textile Paper Green), C (Coated) or U (Uncoated).

  3. Choose a category and collections (optional)

In Category and Collection, select what the saved colours should belong to. You can also create a category from the Category field.

  4. Upload the image

Drop an image in the upload area or click it to select a file. You can use .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .gif or .svg files up to 10 MB.

  5. Click "Detect Colors"

Click Detect Colors. The button reads Detecting... while the AI reads the image.

Check and correct the results

When the detection is done, the window shows "N colors detected, M selected" and a table with these columns: Color, Name, Hex, Pantone Code, Pantone Name and Actions.

  • Uncheck the box of a colour you do not want to keep. The box in the table header selects or unselects all.
  • Click the pencil in Actions to correct a colour. Change the name, HEX code or Pantone details in the row, then click Save, or Cancel.
  • Click the trash icon to remove a colour from the results.
  • Click View Image to see the uploaded image next to the results, and Hide Image to hide it.
  • Click Re-detect to throw the results away and detect again.

Save the colours

  1. Click "Save"

Click the Save button at the bottom right. It shows the number of selected colours, for example Save 3 Colors.

You see "3 colors saved successfully" and the colours appear in the list.

  • When you save one colour, your uploaded image is saved as the picture of that colour.
  • When you save several colours, they are saved without pictures.
  • If no colour is selected, you see "No colors selected".

Note

If you close the window while detected colours are not saved, Discard detected colors? asks you to confirm. Click Keep editing to stay or Discard to close.
